Beautiful People of Los Angeles

Recently, I embarked on a loose project titled vaguely as Beautiful People of Los Angeles. We are so inherently into our moment, our place in time, our phones. It's fun to step out of bounds and photograph someone that typically wouldn't be photographed. Give them a smile, compliment them or make a joke with them and laugh together. Those 5 seconds you can spend on a person you've never met can brighten their entire day, yours included.

Or it can creep them out. Who cares!

This guy watched my buddy Nacho do a kick flip on the sidewalk as he strolled along and he says to me, "Did he just do that all by himself?!" and we laughed together. And then high-fived.

About 10 seconds later, we walked by these open-window chefs making what looked like homemade pasta. Honestly, it looked delicious. I shot them a thumbs up and my big ole smile.

These guys had been there from the moment we parked, to when we decided to go back (which was about 2-3 hours later). They were inundated in their moment. Following each others' rhythms and dancing their way through it.

I feel very fortunate to be from Los Angeles. There is an unimaginable amount of people and every single one of them has a story to tell. When you listen for a moment, it is then that the colors of the city begin to shine through.
